This page announces the first Japan-India Medical Product Regulatory Symposium held on May 18-19, 2016 in New Delhi. Based on a cooperation memorandum signed in December 2015 between Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), both countries' regulatory authorities discussed pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and regenerative medicine products. Key agreements include CDSCO observer participation in GMP inspections, cooperation on pharmacopeial matters, international regulatory harmonization, sharing regulatory knowledge on medical devices and regenerative medicine, and capacity building support through PMDA's training center.
