This page is a press release from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare dated May 7, 2014, regarding food shipment restrictions under the Nuclear Emergency Response Act. The Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters issued shipment restrictions on wild bracken (warabi) collected in Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture (220 Bq/kg) and wild ostrich fern (zenmaia) collected in Kanuma, Tochigi Prefecture (110 Bq/kg), based on inspection results. These foods exceeded radioactive substance standards and were prohibited from shipment in their respective areas.
