Imidacloprid pesticide residues exceeding the standard of 0.01ppm were detected in sesame seeds imported by Mitsubishi Corporation and Itochu Corporation. The detected levels were 0.03ppm and 0.05ppm respectively. Approximately 189 tons of sesame seeds have been either returned or are being held. The inspection order requires testing of all imported lots from Tanzania.
