This page announces a recommendation issued by the Japan Fair Trade Commission on September 27, 2019, against LIXIL Viva Corporation for violating the Subcontracting Act. LIXIL Viva unlawfully requested subcontractors to dispatch employees without compensation to perform store shelf arrangement work at 35 home centers. From October 2017 to December 2018, 812 employees worked unpaid for 6,131 hours across 43 subcontractors. The recommendation requires LIXIL Viva to pay compensation for costs incurred, establish internal compliance management systems, conduct regular compliance audits and training, and notify affected subcontractors of remedial measures taken.
