This page is a December 25, 2013 press release from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announcing the lifting of food shipment restrictions under the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Special Measures Act. The restrictions were lifted for sweetfish (excluding farmed) caught in the Shiraishi River upstream of the Shirahata weir in the Abukuma River in Miyagi Prefecture, and for kiwifruit produced in part of Minamisoma City in Fukushima Prefecture. The Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters issued instructions to both prefectures based on their applications.
