This page describes the outcome of the Second In-Person Meeting of the Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group held in Tokyo on March 15-16, 2026. The meeting brought together ministers, officials, and representatives from 66 countries/regions and 38 partner organizations to discuss AI governance and social deployment involving industry, academia, and government stakeholders. The discussions aimed at realizing safe, secure, and trustworthy AI, expanding the Friends Group to include Global South countries, and promoting global AI ecosystem expansion. The "Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group Action Plan 2026" was announced as an outcome.
