About this page
This page describes the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC), an independent agency established in January 2016 to protect individuals' rights and interests while ensuring proper handling of personal information. The PPC performs duties under the Personal Information Protection Act and the My Number Act, including formulating protection policies, monitoring compliance, managing certified protection organizations, conducting impact assessments, handling complaints and consultations, international cooperation, and public awareness activities. It consists of a chairperson and eight commissioners.
