About this page
This page explains the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's initiatives to promote the use of building condition inspections in existing housing transactions. Amendments effective from April 1, 2024, shortened the validity period of inspection reports for condominiums from three to two years. The standard brokerage agreement was also revised to require documentation of reasons when inspection arrangers are not used, and to clarify inspection limitations. The ministry has developed leaflets and Q&A materials for real estate professionals and consumers to enhance understanding and promote wider adoption of the inspection system.
