This page is a press release from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announcing support for pioneering initiatives to address long-term challenges in dual-region residency. To promote dual-region living and create expanded population flows to rural areas amid demographic decline, the ministry conducted the first recruitment for the Dual-Region Residency Leading Project Implementation Project using FY2023 supplementary budget funds. Nine consortiums consisting of local governments and private sector partners were selected and approved for funding to implement innovative projects addressing long-term challenges in dual-region residency. The recruitment period was from January 30 to February 27, 2026.
