This page announces the approval of a business foundation strengthening plan by shipbuilding companies under the Maritime Industry Strengthening Law (enacted May 2021). The plan enables shipbuilding and marine equipment companies to develop strategies for productivity improvement through new ship development and production method adoption. The plan can be submitted to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for certification. Today, Namigata Shipyard's plan was approved for installing an all-weather movable roof hatch to improve dock utilization, with a target completion date of September 2029. To date, 39 groups comprising 57 companies have received certification, enabling access to various support measures for both shipbuilders and shipping companies.
