This page reports the results of conformity checks conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism regarding Daihatsu's fraudulent conduct in type designation applications. Following a report of misconduct in December 2023, the ministry examined 45 vehicle models and 4 engine types. The results showed that 42 vehicle models and 4 engine types met the standards. However, three models—Daihatsu Grandmax, Toyota Townace, and Mazda Bongo (truck types only)—were found non-compliant with fuel leak prevention standards during rear-end collisions. The ministry instructed Daihatsu to promptly implement recall measures for these three non-conforming models.
