About this page
This page explains the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Re-Design" initiative for regional public transportation. The initiative is based on three pillars: three types of co-creation (public-private, inter-operator, and cross-sector), transportation DX (autonomous driving and MaaS), and transportation GX (vehicle electrification and renewable energy). The goal is to enhance convenience, productivity, and sustainability of regional public transportation through stakeholder collaboration. Given the challenging situation, the government has significantly expanded relevant laws and budgets while strengthening support systems including one-stop consultation windows.
