This page announces the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's approval on August 30, 2022, of additional dosage and administration instructions for Comirnaty injection for ages 5-11. Developed by Pfizer, this COVID-19 vaccine prevents SARS-CoV-2 infection. The approved dosing includes initial immunization with two 0.2mL doses administered intramuscularly at three-week intervals, followed by a single 0.2mL booster dose. The vaccine is diluted in saline solution prior to administration.
