This page is a safety alert issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on February 16, 2017, regarding illegal modified Thermage treatment chips. Modified chips had their usage-limit control function disabled, removing the manufacturer's safety protections. These unapproved medical devices were imported by doctors for cosmetic purposes. Health hazards, including burns from chip malfunction, have been reported. The public and medical professionals are warned not to purchase or use these modified products. Anyone currently possessing modified chips should immediately stop using them due to serious safety concerns.
