Pesticide residue 2,4-D exceeding safety standards was detected in Ivorian cocoa beans, triggering mandatory testing under the Food Sanitation Law. Two shipments imported by Cargill Japan totaling approximately 75 tons were found in violation and are being returned or stored. Although the detected levels pose no health risk, they exceeded the 0.01ppm standard for cocoa beans.
