This page announces the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's indictment against Novartis Pharma Corporation and its employees on January 9, 2014, for suspected violations of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. The company is alleged to have conducted false and exaggerated advertising for the antihypertensive drug Diovan tablets using clinical research results from 2011-2012. After investigation and document collection, evidence of violation of Article 66(1) of the law deepened. The ministry submitted an indictment to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office.
