About this page
This page explains the transition to using My Number Cards as health insurance certificates starting December 2, 2024. Those without My Number Cards or who haven't registered them as insurance cards will receive a "Certificate of Eligibility" free of charge from their medical insurer. Elderly people and those with disabilities who find My Number Card usage difficult can apply for the certificate. By presenting this certificate at medical institutions, patients can receive insured medical care as before. Current health insurance cards remain valid until December 1, 2025, after which they cannot be used.
