This page describes a bill to amend the My Number Act and the Resident Basic Notebook Law, submitted to the Diet on March 7, 2025. Based on Japan's digital society promotion plan, the bill expands the use of My Number in administrative procedures. My Number usage will be enabled for 44 national qualifications including judicial scriveners, certified public accountants, and veterinarians, plus 12 other administrative matters. This expansion allows omission of supporting documents in applications, improving administrative efficiency and citizen convenience. The effective date will be set by ordinance within 15 months of promulgation.
