This page reports the arrest of a Pakistani used car dealer suspected of smuggling stimulant drugs. The Metropolitan Police and a joint task force arrested Batt Shafkat Mushtaq, 53, on suspicion of importing methamphetamine for profit between December 2025 and January 2026. He allegedly smuggled 270 kilograms of methamphetamine (valued at approximately 14.3 billion yen) from the UAE through Singapore to Tokyo's Ohi Container Terminal. The drugs were discovered during inspection by the Tokyo Customs. The suspect denies the charges. Police believe he is a member of an international drug crime organization and are investigating with overseas agencies.
