A man named Satoshi Ezura, now 67, was switched with another newborn at Sumida Maternity Hospital. The Tokyo metropolitan government released an investigation report on March 30, finding that despite DNA testing of people born at the facility around the same time, the biological parents could not be identified. Ezura discovered at age 46 that he had no blood relation to his adoptive parents. A Tokyo court ruled last year that the hospital was responsible for the mix-up, ordering further investigation. Ezura continues seeking his biological parents.
