This page reports on a DNA typing fraud case at Saga Police's scientific investigation institute. A former employee falsified records of DNA tests between August 2023 and July 2024 and fabricated evidence. Police discovered the fraud in October 2024, but continued assigning the employee tasks organizing testing materials in their office. Materials remained accessible for improper handling until February 2025. The former employee was indicted in February for falsifying official documents and evidence tampering.
