This page reports that a Chinese survey ship conducting marine research in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) around the Senkaku Islands off Okinawa left the EEZ on April 2, 2026, at around 4 p.m. According to the 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, the Chinese vessel had been lowering pipe-like and wire objects into the sea since March 30. The Coast Guard had demanded the investigation cease. The ship was approximately 69 kilometers northwest of Uotsurishima Island.
