Nearly 11,600 projects are actively seeking interconnection, representing 1,570 GW of generation capacity and 1,030 GW of storage, with solar, storage, and wind making up 95% of the active queue. Over 94% of proposed generation is zero-carbon, with substantial solar and storage capacity distributed across the U.S. Completion rates for projects are low, and wait times are increasing, with the average project taking nearly 5 years from interconnection request to commercial operation in 2023.
