This page explains Japan's My Number individual number notification documents. Since May 25, 2020, the notification method changed from notification cards to individual number notification letters. The letters inform residents of their My Number and contain personal information such as name and date of birth, but cannot be used as My Number proof documents or identification. They are sent by registered mail and include address labels, notification letters, application forms, and pamphlets. Address changes are not updated, and reissuance is unavailable. The Ministry recommends applying for a My Number Card.
