This page announces the partial approval of Spikevax (Moderna) by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on September 12, 2023. The approval adds a monovalent vaccine containing mRNA encoding the spike protein of the Omicron XBB.1.5 variant. For booster immunization, the dose is 0.5 mL for those 12 years and older, and 0.25 mL for those aged 6 to under 12 years.
