This page describes the Electronic Voting Platform provided by Japan Exchange Group. Since the 1990s, as cross-holdings of shares among Japanese issuers decreased and foreign and institutional investors increased their shareholdings, the need to create an environment for proper exercise of voting rights became more important. The Tokyo Stock Exchange and Broadridge Financial Solutions established the Electronic Voting Platform starting operations in December 2005. As of March 2025, approximately 1,800 companies have agreed to participate. The environment for institutional investors to exercise voting rights has significantly improved.
