This page reports the Fair Trade Commission's enforcement activities under the Subcontracting Act for fiscal year 2018. Seven recommendations were issued against violations, primarily concerning reductions in subcontracting payments (6 cases) and returns (1 case). The number of administrative guidance cases reached a record 7,710. Remedies for damages totaled approximately 670.68 million yen to 10,172 subcontractors from 321 parent companies. Additionally, 73 voluntary disclosures by parent companies resulted in approximately 108.43 million yen in restitution to 804 subcontractors. The Commission promotes fair transactions through initiatives including the Subcontracting Transaction Fairness Promotion Month held nationwide.
