This page reports that Nippon Television Holdings has decided to withdraw from BS4K broadcasting. President Hiroyuki Fukuda announced at a press conference on March 30 that subsidiary BS Nippon will not renew its current license. The reason cited is the difficult business situation of BS4K broadcasting. BS Fuji and BS TV Tokyo have already announced their withdrawal. Since launching in December 2018, BS4K has faced declining viewership while production costs remain high, resulting in significant cumulative losses. The company plans to provide 4K content through on-demand streaming services instead.
