This page explains options trading by the Osaka Exchange. Options trading is the purchase or sale of the right to buy or sell specific commodities at a predetermined price on a future date. Unlike futures contracts, which create obligations, options allow buyers to choose whether to exercise or abandon their rights. There are two types: call options (buying rights) and put options (selling rights), with four positions: call buyers/sellers and put buyers/sellers. Buyers' losses are limited to the premium paid, with no margin requirements, allowing planned fund management. Sellers face unlimited loss potential and require margin, but profit from the premium received.
