This page describes the Securities Identification Code Committee (SICC), established by five Japanese securities exchanges and Japan Securities Depository Center. The SICC aims to set unified standards for securities codes and sectors of public corporations. Tokyo Stock Exchange serves as the secretariat. SICC is a member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and is designated as Japan's ISIN code numbering agency. ISIN codes are international standards specified in ISO 6166 for securities identification. Each country has one designated national numbering agency. Japan has numbering authority over part of the ISIN system for domestic issues, specified by SICC in the "New Securities Code Specifications."
