This page provides information about Hisashi Matsumoto, Japan's Digital Minister. Born June 3, 1962, in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Matsumoto graduated from Kanazawa University's Faculty of Medicine. He worked as a physician at university hospitals and served as associate professor and professor at Nippon Medical School. After his first election to the House of Representatives in October 2021, he held positions as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Defense and Foreign Affairs. He assumed office as Digital Minister in October 2025, overseeing digital government reform, administrative reform, civil service, and cybersecurity.
