This page explains the Consumer Affairs Agency's initiatives on SDGs promotion and consumer policy. The SDGs are international goals adopted by the UN in 2015, aiming to achieve a society where no one is left behind by 2030. Japan established a promotion headquarters and formulated an implementation directive. The Consumer Affairs Agency contributes to SDG achievement through various measures including promoting ethical consumption, child accident prevention, food waste reduction, care networks for elderly and disabled consumers, consumer-oriented management, and whistleblower protection systems.
