Before
This page provides FAQs regarding public account registration for income tax refund filings and correction requests. A public account is a bank account designated for tax refunds that can simultaneously be registered as a public account. Registration is available for tax years from 2021 onwards and requires a My Number on the filing. Registration is only possible for refund filings and correction requests, not for regular filings or amended returns. Duplicate applications are rejected, and accounts other than the designated refund account cannot be registered. Tax representatives may apply for public account registration under certain conditions.
After
This page provides frequently asked questions about registering public fund receipt accounts during income tax filings (refund applications) and amendment requests. A public fund receipt account is a system where the designated refund account can also be registered as a public fund receipt account. Registration is available for refund applications and amendment requests from fiscal year 2023 onwards, requiring My Number notation and identity verification. Registration is not permitted for other types of filings or amended filings. If already registered, the account will be updated if the application is complete. For registering an account different from the refund account, procedures through My Number Portal or financial institutions are necessary.
