Aflatoxin, a carcinogenic fungal toxin, was detected in Iranian pistachio products and Paraguayan chia seeds and their processed products. The ministry issued orders requiring importers to conduct comprehensive testing on all shipments under the Food Sanitation Law. Iranian pistachio products contained 25 μg/kg of aflatoxin, while Paraguayan chia seeds contained 36 μg/kg, both exceeding safety standards.

このページは、輸入食品に対する検査命令の実施についての報告を行っている。具体的には、イラン産ピスタチオナッツ加工品とパラグアイ産チアシードにアフラトキシンが検出されたため、全ロットに対する検査が義務づけられた。この措置は、食品衛生法第26条第3項に基づいている。イラン産ピスタチオナッツからは、基準値を超えるアフラトキシンが検出されたことが理由であり、パラグアイ産チアシードについても同様の理由で検査命令が出された。どちらの食品も現在、全量保管されており、検査結果が出ていることが確認されている。
