This page presents the Fair Trade Commission's report on subcontract law enforcement in the Chugoku region for fiscal year 2020, released June 29, 2021. Written surveys covered 3,100 parent businesses and 13,100 subcontractors. The FTC took 462 enforcement actions: 1 recommendation and 461 administrative guidance cases. Violations included 422 procedural violations (e.g., failure to issue order forms) and 430 substantive violations (payment delays, reduced payments, forced price reductions). The main violations involved 244 payment delays, 68 price reductions, and 61 forced price reductions. To promote fair transactions, the FTC conducted 5 training sessions and 3 regional seminars on subcontract law.
