This page announces an import inspection order issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on August 8, 2014. Thiamethoxam, a neonicotinoid pesticide, was detected in Chinese onions exceeding the standard limit. Consequently, mandatory testing of all import lots was implemented.
