This page introduces Japan's "Regional Revitalization Entrepreneur" program by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. It enables urban companies to dispatch employees to local municipalities for specified periods (6 months to 3 years) to address regional issues using their professional expertise. Three types exist: corporate dispatch, side-job, and senior formats. Corporate dispatch requires working half the month; side-job requires 4+ days and 20+ hours monthly. The government supports salary expenses up to ¥6.1 million annually. A matching platform connects municipalities and companies/individuals. In fiscal 2024, 871 people participated (780 corporate dispatch, 91 side-job), reaching record numbers.
