This page describes L-Alert, a disaster information sharing system promoted by Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. L-Alert is a common platform enabling local governments to rapidly and efficiently transmit necessary information to residents through diverse media channels including broadcast stations and app providers during disasters. Since its launch in June 2011, L-Alert has been widely utilized by multiple information senders and conveyors. Full nationwide operation across all prefectures was achieved in April 2019. In recent disasters, it serves as a critical infrastructure for promptly distributing evacuation orders and related information to the public.
