This page announces the implementation of import inspection orders on Korean tomatoes and their processed products issued by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on February 18, 2015. Fresh tomatoes from Korea exceeded the standard limit for the fungicide Fluquinconazole detected during quarantine inspections. The ministry mandated mandatory testing for all shipments. Three violations were identified with levels of 0.02-0.04 ppm against a standard of 0.01 ppm. Although all products were already sold, health risk assessments confirmed that consumption levels remain within acceptable daily intake limits.
