Monitoring tests detected the insecticide fenvalerate exceeding safety standards (0.04 ppm versus 0.01 ppm limit) in raw Ghanaian cocoa beans. Consequently, all lots must undergo inspection going forward. The violation involved 800 bags (approximately 49.9 tons) imported by Itochu Food Corporation and are currently held in storage. The ministry confirms no health risks are posed.
