This page outlines the international conferences attended by Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC). The Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum enables privacy authorities in the region to form partnerships, share best practices, and discuss emerging technologies and regulatory changes. The PPC became an accredited member in June 2016 after attending as an observer. Between 2016 and 2018, PPC representatives attended APPA forums in Singapore, Mexico, Australia, Canada, the USA, and New Zealand. Additionally, the PPC participates in APEC meetings focused on electronic commerce and personal information protection, including the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules system.
