This page describes the Consumer Affairs Agency's Food Bank Certification System. The system aims to enhance social trust in food donations and promote food contributions to food banks by certifying those meeting the Food Donation Guidelines. The two-stage system first registers active food banks, then certifies those adhering to guidelines without requiring handling volume criteria. Before applying, food banks must be listed on the Ministry of Agriculture's Food Bank Open List and obtain a GビズID. Required documents are submitted via GビズPortal's electronic locker. Applications have been accepted continuously since April 1, 2026.
