This page announces import inspection orders for Sri Lankan red chili peppers and processed products issued by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on December 15, 2017. The organophosphate pesticide triazophos was detected at levels exceeding the standard in chili powder samples. Two violations were identified with triazophos concentrations of 0.05 ppm and 0.18 ppm respectively, exceeding the 0.01 ppm limit. All-lot inspections are mandated for future imports.
