About this page
This page explains the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's promotion of PFI (Private Finance Initiative) projects in parks and green spaces. PFI leverages private sector funding, management expertise, and technology to efficiently develop and operate public facilities. The government provides subsidies and support to local governments implementing PFI projects in urban parks. An example is the Nagai Umi-no-te Park project in Yokosuka, combining BTO and BOT methods. The ministry is also advancing concession system implementation in national parks, targeting introduction by fiscal year 2026.
