About this page
This page presents the "Bicycle Commuting Introduction Guidelines" published by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Based on the Bicycle Promotion Plan decided in 2018, these guidelines were developed by a public-private partnership council to promote bicycle commuting and business use in companies. The guidelines serve as reference material for organizations planning to introduce or review bicycle commuting programs. The latest version was updated in July 2024 with expanded content and revisions, while a previous version from May 2019 is also available. Sample forms for bicycle commuting regulations and permission application forms are provided.
