This page outlines the amended Coastal Law, which was enacted in June 2014 and fully implemented in December of the same year. This marks the first major revision in 15 years since 1999. Key amendments include promoting disaster prevention and mitigation in coastal management, establishing safe operational systems for gates and floodgates, appropriately maintaining coastal protection facilities, and enhancing coastal maintenance reflecting regional circumstances. The Coastal Protection Basic Policy, established by the Ministers of Agriculture and Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, aims to pass on "beautiful, safe, and vibrant coasts" to future generations and was revised in February 2015.
