This page announces the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Smart Island Promotion Demonstration Survey" for fiscal year 2021. The survey aims to solve challenges faced by remote islands, such as logistics, transportation, energy, and healthcare, by implementing new technologies like ICT. Nine regions nationwide will participate in demonstration surveys conducted jointly by local governments and private companies. Results and knowledge gained will be disseminated nationwide to promote Smart Island development and revitalize remote island communities.
