About this page
This page presents information about the Central Shinkansen Subcommittee under Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Established on March 3, 2010, the committee investigates and deliberates on designating the operator and constructor of the Central Shinkansen as well as determining its development plan. Chaired by Hitoshi Ieda and composed of scholars and industry representatives, the committee held meetings from April to May 2011. Meeting notices, summaries, and minutes are publicly available. An interim report was submitted in December 2010 and a final answer in May 2011.
