This page outlines Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's revised standards for aviation obstacle lights on wind power equipment. The amendment aims to promote renewable energy and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 while ensuring aircraft safety. For wind turbines exceeding 150m in height, medium-intensity white obstacle lights must be installed at the nacelle top, with low-intensity lights at equal intervals below. For turbines under 150m, only the nacelle top requires medium-intensity lights. Under specific conditions, intermediate tower lights may be omitted. The regulation was enforced on November 22, 2022.
