This page is Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism portal for unmanned aircraft regulations. All unmanned aircraft (drones and RC aircraft) over 100g flying outdoors must be registered with visible registration marks and remote ID functionality. Operators may need flight permission approval before flying. With proper certification and aircraft approval, Level 4 flights (beyond visual line of sight in populated areas with no assistant) are permitted, expanding drone applications. The DIPS2.0 system handles electronic registration, approval applications, and flight plan submissions for legal compliance.
